Dr. Joseph Dean and Dr. Carol Dean formed Dean Educational Consulting in 2010 to combine LCDnet Consulting, formed by Dr. Joseph Dean in 2003, with the expertise and experience of Dr. Carol Dean. Together they bring several decades of acknowledged expertise and experience in public and private education at all levels, and in pharmacy and healthcare to assist clients solve problems, improve operations and enhance services being delivered to stakeholders.
The scope of their involvement is global. Both have traveled extensively and engaged their talents to assist institutions around the world. However, they are grounded in service locally and domestically from teaching conversational English to internationals at their local church (Carol) to having served on county and city school boards (Joe).

Former business owner, vice president of two private universities and Emeritus Dean and Professor of the McWhorter School of Pharmacy at Samford University, Dr. Joseph Dean offers a wide range of professional expertise, relevant educational background and experience as a proven consultant for higher education institutions, corporate and legal clients.
As a contracted consultant or member of an accreditation site visit team Dr. Dean has assisted or served as an evaluator at 36 institutions/clients in 21 states. Twenty-one consultancies provided analysis and advice regarding beginning a college or school of pharmacy at new or existing educational institutions; most were private liberal arts colleges or universities. The Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) site visits (15) primarily were to private institutions and all included single/multiple assessments at the precandidate, candidate and continuing accreditation stages. His management consultancies have included "dean coach," evaluating institutional advancement operations and assessing and recommending organizational structure.
Dean has assisted twelve (12) institutions in national searches for a founding deans/dean of pharmacy with a 100% placement record. Additionally Dr. Dean serves as a consultant to clients in both the corporate and legal communities.
Carol D. Dean, Ed.D.
Teacher practitioner, professor (tenured) of education, former chair of teacher education at a nationally ranked doctoral university (Samford University), Dr. Carol Dean offers a wide range of professional expertise, relevant educational background and experience as a proven consultant for school systems and higher education institutions. Dr. Carol Dean completed 23 years of classroom teaching (elementary and middle grades) and 17 years in higher education before her retirement from Samford University in 2009.
Dr. Carol Dean has assisted a wide range of school systems domestically and internationally. The majority of her consultancies were to provide guidance in system-wide strategic planning, organizational analysis, curriculum design and on implementation of strategic initiatives to improve student learning and performance. She has assisted public and private institutions across America and in several foreign countries.
Dr. Carol D. Dean, is a native of Montgomery, Alabama, and graduated from the University of Montevallo in (1969) with a A.B. degree (honors) in English and elementary education . Dr. Carol Dean holds a master's degree in education from the University of Montevallo (1973) and the Ed.D. (administration and educational leadership) from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (1997). She was a classroom teacher in public schools in Alabama, North Carolina and South Carolina for 23 years prior to joining the school of education faculty at Samford University in 1992.
During her tenure at Samford Dr. Carol Dean progressed in academic rank from Instructor to tenured Professor with a wide variety of teaching and administrative responsibilities in undergraduate and graduate studies. She led nationally recognized programs in quality management and Problem Based Learning.
Internationally, Dr. Carol Dean has led workshops or made platform presentations on learning strategies, quality improvements in education and curriculum design in China, Hong Kong, Lebanon, Jordan, Puerto Rico and Africa. She has taught courses for teachers at Mt. Meru University, Tanzania.
Dr. Carol Dean retired from Samford University as professor and chair of teacher education.
